From under a rock…

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Okay, this is a bit embarrassing. It's been what, three months? If we've said it before, we'll say it again. Sometimes no news is good news, as we have literally been so busy with new work, that the blog has taken a bit of a back seat, but now the dust is settling somewhat, and we are peeking out from our cave to bring you some recent selections of new work over the next few days.

Lets start with some recent editorial work...

Andrew Joyner's recent work includes the December issue of Jugglezine the brilliant on-line newsletter for Herman Miller, as well as adding his magic touch to Benchmark's service manual for staff for Yello Brands.

Meanwhile Matt Huynh has worked on recent article for Business Week on Russian Fraudsters.

Andrea Innocent has done a great job on mapping Melbourne's Luxury Precinct for stylish Wish Magazine, The Australian's monthly magazine.

And Kat Macleod continues to wow us with her ever-inventive palette of materials. For these reoccurring cleaning illustrations featured in environmental-themed magazine 'G', Kat busts out the chux and tea towels for a truly stunning result:

Stay tuned! More coming.

Once More, With Feeling

Monday, December 1st, 2008

Wow, okay, this is a bit embarrassing... It's been one of those months to say the least. Sometimes no news is good news, and thats definitely been the case of the state of the blog lately, as work has just been coming out of all orifices, and we are just catching our breath. This doesn't come without its fair share of amazing news though...

First off, if you haven't been to the main site in awhile, you may have noticed some changes... We have some new big birds with us, which is supremely exciting all around. Please welcome the new additions to the JW family:

The Jacky Winter Group now represents Rinzen
The Jacky Winter Group now represents Amanda Upton
The Jacky Winter Group now represents Sonia Kretschmar
The Jacky Winter Group now represents Stuart McLachlan

For more images and information, make sure to check out their pages on the main site!

While it is true that some birds have indeed flown the coop, some are simply hibernating, and will be making a very special appearance in an exciting new Agency venture which will be announced in a few weeks, so stay tuned.

In addition, most folios have been updated on the site, including some really exciting new projects such as:

Lachlan Conn for Vodafone
Lachlan Conn for Vodafone
Karl Kwasny for Commonwealth Bank via BMF Sydney

And some incredible new motion clips from Clemens Habicht for one of our favourite house bands, Clinic:

Finally, all JW artists now have their own Author accounts on the blog, so be sure to stay tuned for their direct updates right here.

On the Lamington Drive side of things, we are still working very hard at getting the site back up to scratch so you can purchase your favourite wares from JW artists just in time for the holidays. Be sure to sign up for the LD mailing list to be notified when this takes place.

Anyone in the Melbourne area should definitely pop in tomorrow night for a very special opening of our last proper show for 2008. All the way from Germany, JW artist Lilly Piri is exhibiting a wonderful collection of new works, in her first Australian Solo Show, The Finch & The Flower:

For those of you who missed Kat Macleod's sell-out extravaganza last month, prints will be available on the new LD site soon, but in the meantime, you can check out this time lapse video made by yours truly at Kat's studio as she assembled some of the pieces for her show and other work:

Thanks for hanging in there, and as always, we promise more soon and always.

Love,

JW

Going out with Jacky Winter

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

It is with great pleasure and excitement to announce that after many months of planning, Kat Macleod will be having her first-ever solo showing of artworks at Lamington Drive. Her inaugural show, titled 'The Tiniest Spark' will showcase over 60 new works as well as an intimate selection of artist prints featuring Kat's signature work from both in Vogue Entertaining+Travel, and her first book, 'The Cocktail Book'. In addition, the gallery will be showing a very special time-lapse video that was recorded over the period of a month at Kat's studio, providing an in-depth look at her unique process of image-making.

The show will be opened by Founder of The L'oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, Robert Buckingham, on Thursday, November 6, from 6–9pm with refreshments provided by Redbank Wines, and Lamington gelato from Trampoline

As this is the first time that Kat's work will be available for sale, we are anticipating a very high level of interest. We therefore suggest that you are interested in purchasing one of her original works or an edition of her prints, that you arrive at the gallery as early as possible to ensure your choice of work. Deposits of 20% must be made on the night via eftpos, credit card, or cash.

For those who cannot make it to the opening, the full catalogue of available works will be released on November 7 in conjunction with our full website/online store at lamingtondrive.com

Feel free to email us anytime at info@lamingtondrive.com for any further details!

If thats not enough goodness, the following evening sees the launch of Australian Series of Poketo artist wallets up the street at Robio. Featuring JW Artists, Eamo, Biddy Maroney, Lilly Piri, Fontaine Anderson, and Niels Oeltjen, it'll definitely be an occasion to get your wallets out, and then trade em in.
